Hi guys I know it's my first thread and your probable thinking bloody newbie asking satupid questions. I'm gona ask anyway ha

I had a sub and amp fitted into my corsa c which sounds ok but what with a baby I now don't have room in the boot. I am going to get rid of the sub and amp and get some front 17cm comps and amp them. The question is should I get some rear comps in the side and have them amp'd aswell? Will they sound any good or leave them as standard. I don't want 6x9s on the shelf as they attract the thieving scum bags of london?

Any help would be great and money not an issue. I got a sony HU

Buy a decent set of components for the front and amp them mate!

Not sure about the rear though :( No way you can keep the sub and amp? :(

Hi cheers mate nah at the moment I have pram on rear seats which I can see causing a problem when I need people in back and it also make a mess of my seats and they are mint. Just wondered if having a set of comps in the rear same as front ampd would give a bit of bass???

You could put in a nice 10inch sub in a sealed box in the left hand corner, and have the amp under the front passenger seat? obviously it wont be as loud as a larger ported box, but you will still get a nice controlled punch. If you put a woofer grille over the cone it wont get damaged. Putting components in the back will enhance the low-mid bass a bit, but they wont do much if anything at all for the sub bass. also, what about mounting points? it will involve a fair bit of work to get it right!

hmm can i ask why people dont like putting comps in the front and rear.

because having just comps in the front, wont it sound rubish in the rear if you have none there ?.

It would be difficult to set up properly.

Yeah. Sound stage will be drawn behind you so it will sound wierd and wrong.

Unless you drive around sat in the back of the car you have no need for treble or mids coming from that area.

Indeed. If you spent time on it, you could get it set up nicely. Would it be worth the money and effort? meh.

Hi gazza I have a 10inch at the mo and the the pram wont go in unless I remove shelf which means the sub is exposed. I think I might just amp the fronts aslong as I have decent sound coming theough other than standard speakers then that will be ok.

Ok cheers guys thanks for your help.
