need some desperate xbox help

i've recently had to change my router, and im trying to set it up with my xbox like i have done before but with my old router.
Basically when i run a xbox live connection test it fails on the IP address bit :S
Can anyone help? I never had this problem before on my old router.
Help Help it's doing my nut in!!

Ive never owned a 360 but if you have a pc then connect to the router and check DHCP is enabled and then try running the wizard again. If you dont have a pc then i have no idea im afraid. the normal IP for a router is 192.168.0.1 but sometimes its 1.1 at the end, check the manufacturers website.

still isn't working, i've also tried changing the last number at the end cause i've heard that needs to be different for everything that uses the router in the house...
i never had this problem with my last router, maybe its just the fact that my new one is a netgear one...says it all really.

i've got it sorted now, after 20 days of it not working, its finally fixed (Y)
