The xbox has just blown up ... :cry: ka$h aint gonna be happy! ... Got black screen of death then when I turned it off and back on again the screen went all fuzzy, I know it isn't overheating ... as it is all out in the open. but now I just get a black screen :(

So those who have blown theirs up what number do I have to call for them to repair it? I aint paying for it no way it is only just out of guarantee!

I was playing indiana jones :| I won't pay for it ... I removed a cable and all is fine again, but for how long ... I will let him mess with it when he gets back from work me thinks :|

indiana jones haha no wonder it broke lol, so its all working proper now? stay away from it so when it does break when some-one elses on it, you dont get blamed haha

Nowt wrong with indiana jones :P Already completed it on the ps3 :P ... there is 4 versions in this house :| ds/ps3/ps2 and 360 :| ...

I thought about that but was playing on it earlier for well over an hour with the little one and it was all fine :| ... Told the other half and he said if it goes again turn it off and he will sort it :|

This is really bizarre though!

take it back to the shop you got it from, they will send it off for you.

sounds like the wire came loose if you plugged it in and it worked again. did red lights come on the front??

0800 587 1102 is the number to ring, they are really helpful, only taken a week for them to fix mine, got a email today saying it has been fixed and they are sending it back to me :D

Doubt they would, was bought from Game but as I said it is out of guarantee now so think it will be manufacturer warranty if any which I doubt although will try

Well I unplugged erm ... one of the thick wires on the back lol don't know which one it was, then pushed it back in and it has been fine :| although it was all unplugged and put back together the other day when ka$h had it playin up aswell :(

If its red lights then why cough up? everyone else gets theirs repaired for free ... if they can then so will I :P

i doubt you would get it fixed for free if you aren't covered for it. and its quite pricey if you want it doing profesionally...i.e. wont just happen again in a few weeks/months (about £50 to repair).

if its a known fault which looking round on google quite a few people have same problem then why should I pay :P ... there are ways around everything ;) its only just out of its warranty

do you know when the xbox was manufactured...specifically if it was before the 1st january 2006. if so, you can get it repaired for free as these xbox's were not made up to standard and you can get it repaired by microsoft for free. if its afterwards, you'd be lucky to get it done under warrenty if its only just run out. otherwise it will cost around £50-60 and should take roughly a week to do.

not sure when it was manufactured ... when did they first come out? don't think he had it too much longer after they came out, but on the same note I know it is possibly only a few months max out of warranty ...

my xbox ganatee was out of date by 2 years, but they still extended it to 3 years as its such a common problem, give it a try and ring them up, its a free phone number anyway

yeh it needs repairs :(. have id suggest microsoft first...see if they will do it for free (apparently having a bit of a go at them cos of the price and saying they are meant to be a respectable business works well) but if not, id say go somewhere else to get it fixed cos microsoft will charge top wack.

yeh. most people get this repair for free tbh, so just run off a few white lies about people you know getting it done for free etc. im sure you can get it done for free. think i'll be selling mine before this happens!!

If Microsoft can not do it, there is a person on ebay who does it for £40 i think, got great feedback, all he does is replace the XClamp i think it is, and this should solve the problem

hi, i had this aswell about 2days before i got the 3 red lights keep playing on it and iam 100% sure the lights will come on lol, also i havnt read much of this thread but what happend to MS 3years warranty etc etc i go tmine fixed for free and my controler, waited 28days, but in return i got a game and 3months membership just keep moaning :)

paul sat and played on it for hours the other night trying to get it to happen but it wouldn't. I told him to turn it off, then after 5 mins turn it on again which he did and it crashed several times ... Then it went off, and was turned back on yesterday for the first time ... kept crashing again ... so he phoned them up and they wanted £60 to repair it, even though we knew it was on its way to RLOD ... he refused and sat for the net hour playing games with various crashes etc ... then .........

Got straight back on the phone to them and we are packaging it up today :D ...

When you say it is not covered on the warranty, it is if you keep using it til you get the 3 red lights, and whilst the 3 red lights flash they are still covered under warranty, you just have to be firm with them :D

1 week and 1 day to go from Blyth-Germany ,... oh and back again :) The nice man from UPS just brought back the xbox :D although I aint opened it yet :)
