Well, the PS3 csn only connect to the net via ethernet connection or a wireless network (Wi-Fi), therefore I don't think it'd connect through the usb dongle, I'm typing this on the PS3 and the only 2 options on the internet list is wired or wireless. I don't think the usb thing would work, but it'd be worth a try with someone you know's PS3

Could you use the phone as an access point?

Why would you sit in your car and watch tv?

The phone has the right hardware if it can do WAPband and WIFI. Just need the right routing software and access point software, could have a problem if both bits of hardware are powered by a single source and can only be activated one at a time.

I doubt it mate, as the PS3 wont have the drivers necessary to actually communicate with the phone in that way.

The only way you could do it is by making a small car computer - you could make a very compact one using the PicoITX form factor.

oic, i thought he was talking about using a mobile phone as the modem, connected to his ps3 via wifi, actually hes got a USB WAPband modem. You're probably right that he cant get drivers, car pC is the way forward.
