XBOX help please

Hi

I've just tryed to play my xbox and no disc would play. just comes up wit the xbox home screen and says open tray when you close the tray it says reading then nothing tryed cleaning the disc and a few other games no good. no red lights and was working perfectly about 2 hours before.

has anyone else had this?

I used to get this quite alot, But usually on the 2nd/3rd attempt of putting the disc in it would load..somebody I know had a problem with their disc drive not reading discs atall and something wrong with the plug for the ethernet cable, He phoned up to get it fixed and they charged him £60 quid (to buy another years warrenty) claiming that any problem with the console that does not involve the '3 red lights' will cost him.

Thats probley not the news you want to hear really, sorry :(
