Ok so ive read countless threads and am still massively confused, i have a 1.0 corsa active with all standard audio equipement including the cdr 2005 head unit.
i don't earn an aweful lot so am going to upgrade slowly. Opposing what i have read i will buy some 6x9s as i dont want a sub but i will wait until i can built an mdf parcel shelf in the back.

What im wondering is
1) What will give me the best improvement, installing a new head unit (current outputs being only 20W) using the standard speakers or buying a pair of coaxial speakers (i do not need components) and using the standard head unit.. bearing in mind both will be upgraded eventually but which will be best to upgrade for the time being?

2) Should i leave my standard rear speakers attached (they rattle on the bass which is annoying) until i can afford 6x9s or disconnect them right away? If i were to disconnect right away what would be the consequence??

All replies will be appreciated, ive spent the last 4 hours trying to find this out from previous threads and gotten fair confused

Why wouldn't you need components?

ok its not that i dont need them, its that ive chosen against them for now until i can actually afford a really good system

for now im looking for a budget but decent system, pretty much just get the best out of what i can afford

Doesn't your car already have components? In which case you'd be downgrading.

Upgrading the speakers with a standard system is pointless, you are better off leaving it to be honest.

It'd be much better replacing the headunit first imo, because that means the speakers are getting more power, and the standard speakers can take more than what the standard unit gives them.
