A while back i yanked the volume up on my Sony xplod car stereo and it all of a sudden just stopped working.
I have tested all the fuses and they are fine, put the old original stereo back in and that does not work either. I am really not sure what to do next as I am not that good with wiring or anything techincal
Any ideas:woops:
assuming you have power to the stereo, blown speakers??

Hi, sorry there is no power to the unit
Which fuses did you test? the one in the back of the stereo, or the one's in the engine bay?
Having said that, i would expect the standard stereo to work if it was the fuse in the HU

it really sounds like a fuse, do you have electric windows? do they work?

Everything else works, have tested fuse on head and also all under bonnet. The fuse for stereo is the same as the information display and that still works.
test all the fuses under the bonnet. i had one blow and stereo lost power, but windows and MFD still worked. ignore anything your handbook may say, as my handbook didnt mention audio/stereo for this fuse iirc.

im not too sure then, unless one of the wires going to the headunit was faulty and the high current broke the connection, but i doubt that tbh

don't really want to pay someone a fortune to check it when it could be simple.:(

got a voltmeter? if so check that current is going into the headunit via the wires, then you know its not headunit...

hmmm keep checking EVERY Fuse, in my civic my standerd headunit woudlnt work so i checked the Fuses for the headunit and it wasnt blown so decided to check every fuse, in the end it was some random fuse that had blown cvhanged it and it worked again
