I will be fitting some new discs tomorrow, but could someone please tell me what size socket I will need to remove the carriers? I know its a female torx socket I need, but not sure what size. Is it an e20??
Cheers

Never found out in the end as we found that I normal socket fits really well anyway. Was a piece of piss.

Thats probably a really bad idea.

Well actually it wasnt a totally standard socket I used..... it was a 12-point socket with a breaker bar, so not such a bad idea after all as 12-point sockets are very similar to female torx sockets. But anyway, it worked without a torx socket is what I was getting at.
KK, they use torx bolts where there should be a significant amount of torque (in general) as the socket has more contact area and is less likely to slip than a normal hex. So should try to use the correct too! A full set for a 1/2" ratchet and a 3/8 and 1/4 adaptor should be about £10 all together and is a decent investment for this sort of thing.

Ye I know you are correct and even though there are ways around it, I would advise not bodgin it to other people (unfortunately Im still not sure exactly what torx socket you need).
Its not really a very exciting question in the first place and would take about 30 seconds to compare the sockets you had in a set to the bolt on the car.
Plus a single socket you can usually only buy from halfords for about £3.50-4.50
A set of 6-10 sockets is around £6-9 from your local tool shop *though theyre unlikely to sell individual one". Support your local hardware shop!
