ok i no i havent been on here a while... and yes the corsa is still not finished, and neiother is the astra....

but baught another property and doing a full refurb on that.......

well heres pics of ym custom work..... all my own handy work apart from the plastering and fitting of the gas pipe....

made a timber frame and mounted the tv in the centre...... so i perfectly make the inner frame around the t.v........ PIONEER 50" Plasma :D

make a housing for the maudaunt short speakers....

moved the speakers out a bit and chased allot of the brick out behind it so its a nice enclosure

insert a LOAD of insulation!!! KEEP THE TV WARM :lol:

put a load of battons in on the left for the glass shelves (shop fittings)

and place 6 double sockets, one above each other.... same on the right....

put all wires in for everything..... coaxes, sky cable and telewest leads... phone line moved over to the right..... snaked them so i can pull the wires through when i need them.....

looks stupid do you no how much heat plasma tvs give off and you have left in no ventilation, i hope your not planing on keeping the tv long, and to make it even better you but a gas fire under it haha

all been thought of......

the plasma tv doesnt exactly sit flush on the wall...... the vents are un obstructed at the top....


and the plasma heater...... ;) wellll.......

got a piece of granite cut and polished to a good size... (galaxy black) to go as the mantle piece so it will protect the tv from heat....

so i think all in all...... its a practical build ;)

lost count..... ripped it off and re done it a few times as the ideas wasnt right for the shelves... but susd it out in the end....


its a full renovation , new kitchen, floors, full re wire, plumbing etc etc.... about 8 weeks till its carpeted... kinda good if you ask me...

not to sound stupid but are you using lcd or plasma as plasma cannot sit above a heat source but thats proper nice mate cant wait to see it finished and is there any thing you cant turn your hand to

tvs too high up for my liking.
speakers have to be ear level to have the best effect aswell

i would ahve done but that meant bringing the wall out waaay toooooo much and wasnt practical! buttttt its only the thin bit that sticks out.... so its 3/4 in the wall.... just the bezel with the vents.... looks cool still.....

kinda come to a halt,,, waiting to get the hall way and landing plastered before we can do more painting and cutting in etc etc.... want it completed before i even bring the tv back into the house...lol
