Jack the car up at the back, put it on axel stands for safety and make sure you chock the front wheels and leave it in a gear if it makes you feel more safe.

Then pull the handbrake cover off the centre, it just pulls straight up.

Pull the handbrake up about 3 notches, then under the lever there is a lock nut. tighten that slightly, dont go too mad. Check the rear wheels still move slightly.
Then pull the handbrake lever up 1 or 2 more notches and the wheels should not move. Release the handbrake and make sure the wheels turn again with no rubbing on the brakes.

If that all works, take off the axel stands and job jobbed.

mines cr*p to tbh, i have to pull it right up in order for it to hold and even then it struggles, a standard healthy handbrake is supposed to be about 6 clicks lock.

They are rubbish, other cars the handbrake seems to "stick" the car in place, on corsas you kind of feel it's only just holding the car. Is there a tutorial for cleaning out the drums?
