Hi,

i just had 2 of my tyres changed and in doing so i asked them to check the wheel tracking as it was pulling to the left abit and more so when braking.

Anyway, I had the tyres change, balanced, tracking and all that done and now the car doesn't pull any more but the steering wheel doesnt sit straight. I took it back and they looked and drove it them selves after they re did the tracking and said they were unsure why it was doing it but I booked it back in, in a week for them to re check it.

Any ideas whats causing it? It feels as though the steering wheel is sitting about 20-30 degrees wonky.

I've only had the car 6 months and it has been lowered prior to me buying it. (although I didn't know this when I bought it).

Can I just like remove the steering wheel and put it on straight??

I don't know huge amounts about this stuff so any help would be great.
thanks

When they do the tracking, some places they clamp the steering wheel so a joint on the steering collum may have turned 20-30 degrees sumewhere.

Take the wheel of and re position in on the splines.

they said they would look at it next time, but he said something may have been altered when it was lowered.. i dont know if they clamped it or not. Do you think it would be an easy fix or expensive? Im worried theres a more serious issue and its gona be costly :(

Edit: also looking at it just now I have the steering wheel straight and the wheels do look straight. yet this makes it pull to the right alot. Which makes me think something bad is wrong :(

Iv had my tracking done twice ..

Highered it ..

new wishbone ..

n still does it ..

Have a look at your wheels mate ..

Mine are slighlty buckled ..

Swapped them to the back and there was a vast improvement:)
