View Full Version : question for SRi owners that have dropped down to Eibach 30mm?
basically was it worth it? im thinking you've gained an extra 15mm drop from the standard sri springs. apart from the look, is the overall ride a lot better?
cheers

I don't have an SRi but I noticed a massive difference on Eibachs on SRi shocks. The springs seemed alot stiffer and road holding was improved. Did tend to bounce around quite abit though as the dampers didn't soak much up compared to liquid shocks. You feel every bump in the road which can be a bit irritating after a while when you just want to cruise.
Yeah Im down 30 and I can corner without feeling I'm going to roll over. Still haven't decided if I'm going to keep them or go back to 15mm, would you be interested in selling your -15mm springs?

i thought the eibach springs were the best & most comfortable replacement for standard springs to slightly lower your car?
what is the best and most comfortable suspension kits & springs?
well if you lower your car 30mm then your suspension has that much less travel.
So you can do one of two things, 1) have your suspension just as soft, then it's more likely to bottom out on speed bumps. Or 2) you can uprate the stiffness as well (more stiff springs and shocks) and then you don't bottom out but it doesn't soak up the bumps as much.
I have 1 at the back and it bounces off the stops when I have people in the rear, and 2 at the front and it is rather bumpy but not terrible. You take your choices!

i thought i was actually going to roll his going round a corner
Yeah like driving on jelly isn't it! However facelifts don't seem as bad as prefacelifts such as mine.

so would you still say its the best choice of springs for lowering your car a touch?
I've no idea, depends what you want, I think they're pretty good and I'm fussy, but I've only tried standards and eibachs with front spax shocks.
