Long shot but.. Have you tried resetting the router?

cunney
21-08-2008, 22:50
You mean turning it off and on? Yeh after i put them DSN codes in

atomlab
21-08-2008, 23:29
Yeah, usually i find turning the router off and leaving it for about 2 minutes then switching it back on fixes most problems, ive had the DSN problem before but i cant remember how i fixed it.. i think i just left it for a few days to be honest

Sorry

22-08-2008, 22:22

22-08-2008, 22:41
It always happens to Sky broadband mate it's ****. It does it to me all the time. You can either unplug it leave it for 10 seconds and put it back in or plug it in to your main modem socket in your house (usually the one downstairs). That's all that Sky will tell you if you decide to ring them

Elliott-UK
22-08-2008, 22:41
Or just do what someone else said, just plug your ethernet cable into your router and use a wired connection not a sireless connection

cunney
22-08-2008, 22:44
Im using a wired connection, its xbox - router - phone socket

cunney
22-08-2008, 22:45
Are you actually on sky mate? Any chance you can view your DNS number in your xbox settings and tell me what it is?

cunney
23-08-2008, 13:45
Any1?????

I got the house to myself after 3 more days, after that ill nvr be able to use the widescreen and the router again!

I know its netgear, aint got a clue what model it is.

What does this mean, how do i open a port??

Depends which method you are using to connect?

''If you are using a router open the following ports, making sure you place your Xbox 360 on manual and write down the IP address, be sure to use an IP address nothing else is using, use one fairly high up;

* UDP 88
* UDP 3074
* TCP 3074 ''

23-08-2008, 14:07
http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm

find your router on there and follow the instructions

or your firewall might be stopping you connect to live

cunney
23-08-2008, 14:10

cunney
23-08-2008, 14:17

I think its the Netgear DG834GT (from looking on what sky provide)

Underneath all it says is:

SSID: SKY20429
NETWORK KEY: SWG00EMH
CHANNEL: 1

And then MAC (with a barcode and some numbers)

And SERIAL (with a barcode and some numbers)

Ca11um
23-08-2008, 14:27
aperently Your external IP address is 82.28.248.91

none of this matters you are on a wired connection, no point figuring out what model router he has either because they all use the same/similar fw mode
