My first camera :P

Okays, got in from work last night, and my dad had taken a trip out to get me a camera, as im going on holiday in the morning, thought it would be a nice surprise for me :)

Its just a digi-cam (as far as i know) , just wondering any tips you lot have before i start taking lots of piccies :)

Its a Samsung P1000, the slim one.

Any tips or anything? We have photoshop elements and everything on the computer, but as im taking it on holiday tomorrow, just wondering if there are any specific settings or anything i should set it to.

if you have a tripod then id reccomend taking that (especialy for night pics) because you dont want to come back with blurred out of focus shots, they might look okay on the camera but when you get them on the comp they are often out of focus.

The P1000 is very point and shoot orientated - Just select the correct scene mode for what you are shooting. If you choose night scene, you will need something to keep the camera absolutely still like a tripod or a handy wall.

Righty o, i mean as you said, im a kind of point and shoot kinda person, so its just general pics i will be taking, nothing professional.
