Decided to upgrade from Office 2000 to 2007 and assuming this http://www.ebuyer.com/product/124761/show_product_overview is the package I need?

Will all my Office 2000 files work fine with 2007 or will there be compatibility issues?

Website also saysd "1 PC" so assuming the licence covers one machine only? as we have 3 machines in the house how would I go about opening the 2007 files on the others which still have 2000??

What happens if you reformat a hard drive, do you have to apply for a new cd key?

Does anyone know anywhere that is selling it cheaper

Lol, torrent, IMO.

You can open old versions in the new version, as I have it both at work and on my PC too. It's loads better.

No compatibility issues - The only 'issue' is that the new file format that Office uses is not backward compatible unless you have the office2003 addon - i.e. id you saved a word document in Word 2007 as the default .docx, someone using office2003 would need a free addon from MS to open and edit the file. You can choose to save as a word 2000/2003 document, and set that as the default format if you wish. The only disadvantage to that is that you will lose some of the advanced formatting features that only Word2007 offers.

Cheers Gaz, most files stay on my pc anyways.

Do you know the cheapest place to get hold of a copy? is the one I put in the first post the correct package I need?

Yes, that would be fine. if you only want Word, Powerpoint, Excel and OneNote then just get the Home and Student edition, which you can get for under £100. The only way to get it brand new (legit) cheaper than that is through student specific offers as far as i am aware.

Bear in mind that is also a single license, meaning it can only be installed on one machine at a time.

I need Outlook and Access so I'd need the full version. One machine is fine, I've bought it so I'll have it  Is the ebuyer price reasonable then?

MS sell it on their website for £349.99, so any cheaper than the ebuyer price is a bonus!
