Need a little help here people!!
Just been down to my local garage who I know are good as they sprayed my bonnet when I crashed!
I asked for a full colour code meaning :
Arches, back bumper, all door handles, wing mirrors..
And he said for a normal CC would be £200 but with the material of the arches their are dimples in and for a simple cc they would show up in texture and wouldn't be as shiny as the full coat.
So he said to smooth them and plastercise them all to look perfect the price would be £340
Also were I took my rubstrips off their where a mark on one of the side doors and he thinks that the door might of been painted again and not painted under the runstrips os he's sort that out for an extrs £60
all in all £400 for a perfect job cc and a fix on my door.
What you reckon??
cheers!

good stuff!
Does anyone know about the dimples and if they had to get them smoothed out or what?
basically the arches are a job to get smooth, and you dont want them looking like roange peel.
if you trust the bloke, and there seem to be no other decent enough places around then go for it.

The arches on mine aint been smoothed in there nowt wrong with em, you can do alot more with £200 so id leave them.

A professional bodyshop wouldn't have a problem with the texture of the corsa arches/skirts i'd of thought, especially to charge an extra £140 for it.
The equipment they'd use to sand down anything is probably easy-mode anyway...
I think Cunney is talking about having smoothed arches? and you mean smoothed texture on the arches?
Or maybe i'm just wrong

Well they said they could plasticise it and spray and laquor it but you would see the texture and it woulldn't look as good as the rest of the car..
I think for the extra £140 he will smooth over all the areas that need doing and plastercise twice he said.. can't remember full details but I know the guy and he's sound and does a good job so I don't think he would be conning me or anything!

I think i'm just confused as to what it is your meaning haha
So let me get this straight. For £200 he will CC the arches, as they are right now...just straight onto the plastic texture?
For £340 he will sand the texture off them and CC them?
Or do you mean he will sand the texture off regardless (as this imo is part of the CC anyway I think) and smooth the arches into the car? So they can't be taken off as a seperate part? Is this what he's gunna do for £340?
Whats the garage anyway...I'm only in St Helens and it's nice to know a bodyshop nearby lol.

LOL for £200 it would be a standard cc so im guessing he'd take them off sand them etc etc.. but he said to me that the becasue of the texture of the plastic it owuldn't have the shine as the rest of the car so it would be better for him to smooth them and plastercise them twice and so on and so on.. Ill have to ask him the exact differences when I come to doing it..
It's one in ince/Rose bridge..
If you know where Rose Bridge school is it's just past that and after teh bridge it's your first right.. it's the garage there..

Do you think I should go for skirts rear and front splitter before cc or the other way round!?
get your car finished then get a cc done.... that way everything is done in the exact same colour at the same time ....
ie// everything matches ;)

but theirs going to be about a month gap between the two!
SO don't want un painted skirts rear and front lieing around when I can't do nothing with them!?
