what are these for and do most alloys need them???? can i take mine out cus they are rubbing, would it make any diff??? cheers trying 2 think of every way 2 stop them rubbing before i buy a new pair.

I can't see why you would want spacers on your wheels unless you have a wide arch kit etc. And then I can't see what they would rub on, do you mean the tyres are rubbing?
If its spigot rings you mean (the ring that fits in the centre of the wheel) these are to reduce the size of the centre bore so its more friendly for your specific car ie. 56.6mm. This is so the wheel locates on the hub, if it wasn't a good fit, all the strain would be taken by the bolts alone, this can cause wheel wobble, and lead to the bolts shearing in bad cases.
i think there to stop your alloys rubbing on the metal ring the alloys attach to, but i think you can take them off i took them off my alloys on my old corsa b

i have spacers on my car as the offset is wrong and the alloys were catchin the callipers, there must be a reason y u have sparces on in the 1st place if u take emm off u mite find out y they r there

if the wheels r rubbin then takin them off will bring the alloy in closer to the brakes so that mite stop rubbin a bit, but spacers r only 3mm or u may have 5mm if rubbins the problem sort the arches out
spacers reduce the offset, not normally needed on vauxhalls because our offsets are high anyways
