: Stuck in First gear and a loose gearstick

Hi all,

This evening pulled up onto the drive left it in first as always as my drive has a slight incline. Gone to pop it out of gear and the gear stick is completely loose and my car is stuck in first?

Has the gear linkage gone whilst its in first or is is something simpler?

Cheers,
Dan

Lift the gaiter up and clip the white ball and pegs back in at the bottom.

everything seems to be together undewr the gaitor, Where the gear linkage is under the bonnet though, the two balls of each end of the linkage seem to have popped out nd i cant get them to go back in?

get under the car and have a fiddle around with the linkage

then go down to a garage and book your car in to have it replaced

Mine popped out the other week but my gear stick just floppped around anywhere! Pushed the ball back into the socket so i could get home and then got linkage replaced next day.

Only cost me 40 to fit and i got the parts for free :)

40 wasn't THAT cheap, yeah it was cheap i spose. I paid 40 for my part and got it fitted for a tenner at my local garage :)

Did you get a genuine GM linkage for 40? I'm sure there like 100 from VX.

buy the gear linkage from ebay..

metal gear linkage rather than the plasic, comes with fitting instructions too!
