Rennes sign Spurs defender

Rennes claim they have completed the permanent signing of Tottenham's Erik Edman.
The Sweden international only joined the club last year from Heerenveen but he is being allowed to depart to France to link up with compatriots Andreas Isaksson and Kim Kallstrom.
A little surprisingly, the 27-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Ligue 1 outfit as it had been thought that a loan deal would have suited all parties.
Spurs have been busy reshaping their squad with PSV Eindhoven defender Lee Young-pyo expected to be unveiled at a press conference on Wednesday.
"We have been following him for two years," stated general manager Pierre Dreossi before concluding the negotiations. "We know him very well and have wanted him for a long time.
"It has not been possible for a long time, however, there is an opportunity within the next 24 hours, although it is complex."
Rennes have made a poor start to the campaign defensively and, as reported on Tuesday, Edman was high on their list of targets.
