I am thinking of getting rid of my old unit and saving a bit for this one, but it seems a bit pricey so if anyones used one before/owns one, and wants to give me the lowdown on what this unit is really like i'd appreciate it

looks good, is sposed to be realy good,
its on my list, but at the mo the jvc avx1 jobby wins - the one with the 3" screen

yeah just thought thats a wicked idea putting bluetooth on the HU, are there many other units that do that?
It looks nice n tidy, think I will go for that then.
I understand im not allowed to sell anything on here which is a shame cos now i've gotta sell my old one!

I've had that stereo for a few weeks now m8.....its awesome! I've always owned pioneer stereo's and they just keep getting better!! The quality of the bluetooth feature is very clear however the microphone which picks your voice up could be a bit better. If you talk quietly the person on the other end of the line hears a lot of interference, but if you talk up a bit its perfect. You can store your phonebook on the stereo too, however to transfer it you have to send via blutooth as well, and my D500 doesnt want to send it to the stereo so im gona have to enter the numbers in one by one. But thats the only bad point i have to say about it.
As for the sound quality...its as good as it gets! Go buy it!
Was watching Pimp My Ride UK last nite, and they fitted this stereo into the Ford Capri they did. :D

iv had it for 3 months n i still hate it
gunna dump it soon when i find a touchscreen headunit around xmas time
lol, well all people are intitled to different opionions, i still love it though lol

Mate - when you decide to get rid of the Alpine HU, give me a shout - you know i am good to do business with, and i would be interested at the right price!! 8)

did you know clarion do a touchscreen h/u? my mate got one, its alright, can be bloody annoyin to use tho!!
my gf is getting me this headunit for our anniversary (she gets jewellery - i get something more useful :D) can someone confirm this has the required pre outs to run an amp/sub for when i eventually upgrade? As you can tell i know bugger all about this sort of stuff..:D

no mention of a Corsa, would this work anyway as I can't find one for a corsa,

theres one similar to this on ebay PIONEER DEH-P7700MP looks the same but wats the difference dont think this one has blue tooth. Also says sum fm channels may not work in the uk, does this mean u cant tune them in as wouldnt want to get it if u cant. Any one had any trouble wen buying head units from usa? cheers

It is probably the same as if you buy a Jap import, they use a different set of frequencies for their FM band, therefore making some stations unavailable.
You can get an adapter i think, but it will make all the stations you listen to appear on a different freq, making tuning quite lenghty

cheers, think ill pay a bit more and get one from uk then. That head units only 144 tho
without getting a motorised flip out monitor this is one of the best available! mate has one in his evo - so easy to use!
