i see sven is thinking of playing 4-5-1 on sat with rooney up front on his own.
i think rooney is better just behind the striker like he is for man u,

i really don't think much of 4-5-1, it's the sort of thing u play againt a team u know u can't beat

u need a LOT of pace, to get support up front, and someone REALLY strong with an awesome touch to hold it up, but rooney won't win enough in the air to paly up by himself

it's SO negative, u only play it to stop the opposition playing through ur midfiled, if u know un inferior to them

england don't have enough pace in midfield really, i suppose if wright-phillips plays it would help but sven would probably play 2 centre forwards on the wings knowing him

I prefer the 4 3 3 Tbh Rooney, Owen And Defo up front! Beckham, Gerad And lampard in midfield and Terry, cole, KING, and mmm, Nevile wid robinson in goal.

if u ask me there's a reason 4-4-2 is so popular, and then there's a reason u play 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 if u can't hack 4-42.

anything else has too many problems if u ask me, no width with 4-3-3 or u leave too many gaps

if i had 2 play england as 4-5-1, i have defoe up front on his own, then rooney in the centre pushing off defoe, carrick in a holding position just in front of the back 4, the lampard in the centre, beckham on the right and SWP or Downing on the left.

u'd need someonel ike shearer ideally, but not shearer now as he's past his england days. i don't think crouch or heskey are good enough, beattie would do the job well though

then i'd rather have rooney or defoe or even both sitting behind him with PARKER sitting in midfiel, and beckham on the right, swp on the left :)

it's kinda like a 4-3-3 but u'd have defoe and rooney or owen or whoever dropping back aswell

tbh we could have LOADS of different combinations

u could even have rooney pushing, lampard floating, and parker sitting

he needs to pick parker for his squad :|
