so you wouldnt trust someone who has vast experience of making detergents to, um, make a detergent?

each to their own I suppose..

ITs like not trusting shell petrol as they make oil too and if you put their oil in your petrol tank, it would **** the car up...

Its not that I couldnt trust it, as im sure there are slight legal implications of releasing something that damages stuff.

Just I prefer my glym stuff :)

not saying it damages stuff, just saying it all that its cracked up to be.

Its not fairy liquid tho is it? Can a company only make one product successfully? If you think so then I think you need to seriously re evaluate your opinion on things. My point was, that the company who have invented this product, and the chemicals it uses, are experienced in the manufacture of household cleaning products, and have seen fit to diversify from cleaning floors (I am actually yet to see flash washing up liquid) into cleaning other things. Its a logical progression, and one that I am sure they will carry out with great competence.

Im not saying I would have one myself either as I derive great satisfaction from running the chamois over a wing and drying it off. I will personally stick to autoglym, as i have a stock of it running back 5 or so years from being at donny show etc :D

Do also bear in mind that some people arent as physically fit as yourself, and may struggle to carry a 15-20litre bucket of water from the tap to the car, bend about etc washing it, and then same again drying it off. For those people its a fantastic product. £20 tho is, IMO , hardly cheap.

Just beacause you dont like it and it doesnt suit your needs doesnt mean its not any good.

what i meant is that they dont specialise in car cleaning equipment. to me it seems a gimmick to get all the mums to buy it in tescos.

and i dont care what anyone says, you cannot clean a car correctly by spraying stuff onto it and rising it off, just dont happen, unless you use an extremely powerful pressure washer, but i prefer my paint on the car and not the tarmac.

anyway, who cares, wont be buying one!

It doesnt dry its self but it does dry without water marks

Phil_G

They do however specialise in the detergent marketplace in another area. Ive never said they are absolutely spot on, just trying to point out that there must be something to them and they must do a halfway reasonable job, or quite simply the product wouldnt exist as people wouldnt buy them once the reputation of a poor result gets around

For a member of the general public, who is after a quick wash over without the arseache of lugging half a dozen bottles out a cupboard, 20 litres of water across the kitchen, etc etc, then theyre great. Just beause they are after a quicker and less "perfect" result than you are, doesnt mean they need to be looked at in such a derisory fashion.

LIke i said too, I will stick with autoglym as thats produced nowt but great results for me over the last six years.

Also, please do not patronise me with lessons in washing a car. Ive been doing that for longer than you have been driving (and to show standard too!), so i have a fair idea on how to get the right result. I am also well aware of the effect of a jet washer has when used incorrectly and do not need reminding of this.

I would also suggest that you research the system a little further as you do also use a sponge to agitate and remove the dirt
