Polish / Wax

Firstly, is there any difference between a polish and a wax?? Or is it the same thing but different names.

I wanna get a really nice shine to my car, what polish/wax do you all use and do you recommend it?

I use Auto glym polish then the high gloss stuff

just checked i use 'turtle was eXtreme rapid drying polish and wax'

Difference between polish and wax is polish cleans and wax shines :?

wouldnt advise the rapid dry on a black car cos it leaves little white marks where youve been putting it on the other side and its dried :mad: :(

autoglym and meguiars (sp) are meant to be the best but its a bit of personal preference tbh :thumbs:

i use whatever my dad has lying around, usually mer or the turtle wax stuff. Heard that Zymol is the best though bu dont now were you can get it from

I use:

Autoglym car shampoo conditioner,

then:

Turtle Wax colour magic polish

then:

turtle Wax extreme wax...gives an amazing shine!

I use on the mg,

simoniz car shampoo ****,

Turtle wax colour magik blue stuff,

Then every week or so i will give the car a coat of Turtle wax extreme gloss guard wax.

I Use Meguiars, I Found The Tyre Stuff Is The Best

Swissol is the best wax on the market but at £130 its not cheap :o :o

although its expensive to buy as a starter kit i have used mine for 3 years now and the finish is fantastic !!!!

I bought some MER recently as I used it years ago and it was good but I cleaned & polished it on a sunny day last time (says on the bottle you can) and it was an absolute HHHOOOOOOAAAAAAA to get off!!!!

I used to use that Mer stuff and still do sometimes its good stuff. But just got the Meguiars NXT Tech Wax recently which is very good stuff :)

You hardly need to use any, it comes off realy easily and doesn't leave tonnes of residue either.

Mer is okay if ur gona sell ur car and u need it to shine for the sale, but doesn't last, aye unless u apply it 5 times in a row. Meguiars NXT stuff is the nicest ive found sofar

I got both, did one half of the car with one and the other half with the other. Both come up just as good. But as Mer is easier to apply and can be applied in heat/sunlight i prefer Mer :)

From my own experience, you only really need to wax the car properly up to 3-4 times a year, you can polish the car as often as you like!

get your backside outta bed mate and go have a look. I bought wheel cleaner and polish in the same offer. I sy=till got loads of polish left, but hardly any cleaner!!! A tip, as it seemed a good idea at the time!!!!!!
