The "Face Off"
Come down and make Vauxhall the winner!
My local site have organised something called the Face Off, to really see which make of car is the best.
Cars will be divided into teams and Vauxhalls have been give the name Team VXR. There will be points awarded for different catergories and the team with the most points will obviously be the winner
Id like to try and make Team VXR the winner at this event! But im gonna need some help!
Any of you guys out there that are willing to help make Team VXR the winners would be greatly appriceated.
Heres a little bit more information about the Face Off quoted from SurreyModified....
It's no secret that a large proportion of the member base on here are fanatic about the make of car they drive. I don't think anyone's going to forget the 'VTR attitude' thread, and certain members obsessions with G40's verges on the psychotic. Over the sites history we've had the Polo dynasty, the Corsa revolution and the rise and fall of the Saxo.
Which make of car does rule Surrey Modified? Which badge reigns supreme? And so the concept of a Face Off meet was born. In the spirit of a friendly competition, owners of all different makes of car across the forum will be given a chance to strut their stuff, stand up for their brand and prove, once and for all (until next time that is) who rules the roost.
Intrigued? Read on.......
http://forum.surreymodified.co.uk/images/smiles/smile.gif The Date:- Thursday 24th of November 2005 http://forum.surreymodified.co.uk/images/smiles/smile.gif
http://forum.surreymodified.co.uk/images/smiles/groovy.gif The Location:- Ladymead Retail Park, Guildford http://forum.surreymodified.co.uk/images/smiles/groovy.gif
http://forum.surreymodified.co.uk/images/smiles/smile.gif The Time:- 8.00pm gathering for a 9.00pm kick off. http://forum.surreymodified.co.uk/images/smiles/smile.gif
http://forum.surreymodified.co.uk/images/smiles/drivin.gif The Teams:- http://forum.surreymodified.co.uk/images/smiles/drivin.gif
Car's will be divided into the following categories...........
The Jap Collective: Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Mitsubishi and the rest of their Japanese cousins.
Dub Club: VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda and other Teutonic brethren inc Merc, BMW etc.
Continental Contingent: Citroen, Peugeot, Renault and Fiat
Team VXR: All manner of Vauxhall engined beasts.
The Blue Oval Brit Pack: All Fords and any other makes that would like to get involved.
http://forum.surreymodified.co.uk/images/smiles/clap.gif The Format http://forum.surreymodified.co.uk/images/smiles/clap.gif
Here's how its going to play out...........
On the night in question everyone will meet at Ladymead in a similar format to all previous meets. The difference being that members of each group will be encouraged to park within a team area. Throughout the evening there will undoubtably be the usual mix of chat, fun, probably a bit of football and almost certainly a bit of Burger King.
The key difference is that through out the evening each group will be judged on various categories, with points available out of 10 for each category, with the team collecting the most points being announced at the end of the evening. What the specific categories are is still a working concept: some will be team member judged, some will be judges opinion, some will be a statistical thing. All effort will be made to ensure that weight of numbers alone will not be enough to secure victory.

SurreyModified wouldn't be what it is without the members, so naturally any big event we do is going to have to revolve around you guys. Member participation is going to make or break an event like this, and I'd love to see this become one of the biggest events that SM has ever self organized. After the fantastic turnout at the Newbie and Mega Meet I know the potential is there for it.

Yup, nothing major. Admin arn't going on a facist trip again. Just a few ground rules.
1) Membership of this site is NOT an essential requisite for being a Team Member, but it would be appreciated if any cars brought in from outside the site could at least try to register beforehand.
2) The competiton is all about having as many people have as good a time as posible. So anyone found trying to increase their own teams chance of winning by sabotaging other teams efforts will be out. (For example, trying to convince other car owners not to attend)
3) Attempts to impress crowds by way of dangerous driving will result in disqualification
Ermmmm..... thats all I can think of for the moment!!!
http://forum.surreymodified.co.uk/images/smiles/clap.gif Conclusion http://forum.surreymodified.co.uk/images/smiles/clap.gif
Above all, this is intended as an opportunity to have fun, enjoy yourselves and add a bit of spice to the tried and tested Ladymead meet formula. Please also don't feel that you have to own a working car to attend the event: think of it as a large scale site meet, with a strong theme to it, rather than being the competition and nothing else.
Above all, whilst we'd love to see as many member as posible really striving to make sure that their group whoops ass over the other, please don't take it to the point where it ceases to become enjoyable, because if everyone takes it so seriously to the point of it not becoming fun, then it goes against the real idea of the meet: an oppurtunity for all members to enjoy themselves as part of SurreyModified.
It would be great to see members from Surrey, Hampshire, Sussex and beyond attend this event.
One of the site admins said it was cool to get you guys involved in this event, also he told me that if this meet is a success that Redline may attend the next Face Off.
If your interested or have any questions drop me a PM so I can get an idea of people that are going to come down.
