View Full Version : Huge Mistake!!!!!!!!!!
I have made a big mistake, Personaly i think 17s are a bit to big, so i went for TSW Reflex's in 16s i now hate them after only 1 week, they look to small:banghead: BTW they are fitted with 195/45/16 tyres and are Et42.
So, is there a way of regaining some of my pride, for example, to make it look better can i fit 195/55/16 tyres to fill the arches a tad, or will it be better to lower it a bit and if so by how much. Realy need help on this as i am pretty peeeeed off at present, Oh and i have'nt told my other half yet which is another problem in it's self ( she will go mad)

1.4 sri springs wont do much for you tbh get some 30mm eibachs
Bigger tyres = look daft on 16s and throw rolling radius wayyy out (15s on 55 16s on 45 and 17s on 40 all equate to a similar (ish) rolling radius)

bigger tyres with fuk your diff up n shag the car
I have searched for a while now on the subject of lowering but can't find a defenite answer, will this not knock the camber out thus scrub the tyres of, i know you can't adjust the camber, so does not leave me a bit stuffed.

Ok lads thanks for the advice, lowering it is then, if i still don't like them i'll have to get some new ones (17s of course) Thanks again.
u need to be lower than 30mm save up for some coilovers, i think there are some in the group buys..slam it 60 then ur laughing
still cant believe u opted for 16's over 17's when they are roughly the same price and 95% of users on here that have aftermarket wheels are 17's
i consulted over 16's and 17's as well
16's just dont fill the arches if i was you put them on ebay and get yourself some 17's then lower it

Get Coilovers!!!
Check the special offers forum
its usually the amunt of tyre that makes the wheel look crap
less tyre and the rims looks better.
but 16s in reflex is making me cringe, im sorry mate.

just drop it and whack a front splitter, skirts and rear extension on

Still looks like it needs lowering on 16's which aint good. 17's would have been better yeah sorry mate.

I think it looks alright mate....lower it a bit and it'll be sorted. No need to buy new wheels. I know what you're going through though....I recently sold my C and bought a Toyota Corolla T Sport. It comes with 16's, so I bought some Superleggeras in 17's for it, put them on and it looked awful...didn't fill the arches at all...I was gutted. But I think yours looks fine, no problems at all. I had 16 inch Paces on my C.
looks good, i think you need to really lower it right onto the arches.
you could have gone for 17's, but whats original about that ?
Ok Guys, here's the deal, I'm gona lower it because even if i put 17s on it's gona need lowering anyway, I don't hold up much hope though because i noticed today that 16s with 195/45/16 tyres (which is what you see in the pics) are actually slightly smaller than the stock SXi wheels with 185/55/15 tyres.
Anyway thanks for all your input and we'll have to see what happens, Thanks Again:thumbs:
