Tinted Windows - Group Buy

Thanks to Corsa Z18XE we now have contact details for a (possible) group buy on tinted windows in Llanelli.

I know it's obviously price dependant but a general idea on a number of people interested in this would be best before organising.

I know just about as much as you! I don't know where it is, what the company is called or how much it's going to cost! All i know is the contact details.

As you may already know, i have tints already... So i'm not including myself in this group buy, although is the price is right, i might get my girlfriend to throw her KA into the group.

yea im up for getting this done also.
the place where we get the tints, is meant to be the place where local landrover main dealers send some of their vehicles, so it cant be bad. from what i understand they take the windows from the car and let them dry in either a vacuum or an oven. which minimises any bubles around the matrix at the edge of the window, and also i think this means you can use the windows pretty soon as well. but we can find all that out when we go down there.

Llanelli is hard to pronounce, especially if you have no welsh knowledge.

Double ll is said with a slur of the tongue, so its llllllllan ellllllllllllllllyyyyyyyy

If there is enough i'm sure the price will be cheaper ! well as cheap as it could be anyways. A good price off etsm is £65 for back 3 windows, as posted, you think it will be about that much?

I haven't got a clue what the quality from this company is like, i already have tints, so i myself am not taking part in the buy, although like all tints they will not scratch from the inside (unless you use a knife), usually you have to refrain from using the windows and rear heater for 2 weeks to allow the tints to fully apply to the window and they will not peel off!

That's not a problem! I have a (somewhat) install myself and it doesn't matter whether the boot is full or not.

Nope, the rear window and rear quater windows are bonded in position with a special adhesive, so no worries :)

i want them all done too. but i want progressive tints, where the front is really light, and the back goes darker, to the back window.

i was thinking of the same kinda tints liam but i want the 1s that go black to red or silver 2 red on each window,look different and on a red car i would think it would lok mint. what u lot think ?

To be honest i dont know as i have never been there, but my mate got his new fiesta done last friday, so ill ask him. oh yea and it has been confirmed that u can use the front windows with in 24hrs. but id probably leave it 2 days just to be sure.

Llanelli is 15 minutes drive from swansea. Its easy to get to if you know how to get to swansea.

I'll get a map if needed.

I cant afford them this month as i have insurance to pay for, but they could be done in 3 -4 weeks if enough are interested.

yea ive seen his work on my mates fiesta mk5, and on his dads Discovery. i was going to go down with him at the time but i was short of money and couldnt affort it at the time. its the best ive seen around here. and like i said in a previous post you dont get the dots around the edge of the windows 'cause of the way its applied.

ive had mine done now for 3 years and ive only ever been stopped once...i got limo style on the backs and a medium smoke on the front... so police around caerphilly & cardiff are not so bad about it

There is a company in Bridgend (well Brynmenyn) called Welsh Tinting.

They will do the car for £30 per window.

Have to leave it for 5-7 days though.

Do a very neat job as my mate had his done on a new Mini and the front windows open n close a bit everytime you open the door, had no problems in the last year from them.

I think they would be up for a group discount as they were willing to offer discount for 2 of us, but I had no money at the time.

got them done today light tints on front and medium on the back 3. I think it looks good only one very small air bubble on one of the front windows but they said that if i am not happy with them in about 2 weeks take it back and they will sort it! so not bad, apart from that 1 tiny air bubble on the 1 window they are perfect!

they look awesome and i agree with you, it looks better with the fronts done lightly, can see out of them no problem so dont know what the fuss is all about really, i personally think you should be allowed a light smoke on front windows.
