Well i got sick of my 533mhz, 128mb ram,13GB hdd, 32mb RIVA graphics (lmao) packard bell...

So i decided to build a new one...

Pentium 4 3.6 GHz (OC'd to 4Ghz)
ABIT PCI-e mobo
Corsair 5400 2GB RAM (2x1GB) - dual channel
250GB Western D' 16mb Cache HDD (apps, music etc)
40GB Western D' 10k rpm hdd for a few games (quick loading)
XFX GeForce 7800 GTX 256mb PCI-e (beast for battle field 2)

Spent 2 months wages :| lol...

Should last me a long time though!

I was bored so i thought id stick heatsinks on there :)

My origional plan was to neonage it , might do once the company i use gets them back in stock, jst hook it upto the usb adaptor on the back lol also thinking of putting a 40mm fan on there lmao..just because i can :|

I have some blue LEDs might replace the ones on the voyager...

Deffo gonna put neons in it though, cause the top of the case has vents in it so the neonage will shine out!

Real reason for all the stuff on the modem though is it seems to have problems with heat, if i touch the chips their burning hot, and i get loads of CIs in games because of it overheating (no joke)

used to have a wee bt voyager..... but now on blueyonder. must say, never noticed a problem with mines when we had it! lol defo didnt consider cooling it :P

mate that is a beast of a machine there, 10k rpm 40Gb WD HDD, IIRC only SCSI drivers are capable of that amount of revs otherwise max of 7200rpm

Excellent, new it wouldnt be long, i reckon SATA will take over the SCSI life as it can handle immense amounts of data transfer by comparison

sataII might, but will be a long time as scsi is well set in the server market, works, and at 320mbps dosent really need to get much quicker. (and drives are generally raided too for speed and resiliance yes I know this can be done with sata just sayin that it dosent really need to change, and major changes in server market are normally done by necessatity)

SATAII gets up to 300Mb/s.... double that of the 150Mb/s that the SATA ones do :)
couple of drives out there claiming to have some features of SATAII.... but not worth it untill fully implemented ones start showing! :D mmmm 300mb/s :D

sayint that it might..... my mobo came with connectors for the back for sata drives :| and when i go to remove my usb flash drive my 2 sata hard drives show too..... lmfao :lol: so maybe they do to an extent... :|
