View Full Version : PC now fitted in car and Strut braces

PC is now fitted in the car. Thousands of MP3 songs and GPS. Great

Can anyone help me with the amp. There is distortion coming from the speakers, I dont know if this is from the PC or if the amp is wired wrong. The amps ground is connected to the strut brace and the power is connected to the CDR2005 power source, as the CDR2005 is in the boot. I noticed that the CDR2005 ground is connected to the unit. Will this affect it having two different ground points.
I ordered a FM modulator and this also has distortion, so I think it is more likely the PC. So if anyone knows how to ground a PC it would be good to know.

to ground the pc i think u need to use a ring connector and put that under a bolt fixing the motherboard down to the case chassis, and then connect that to the earth of the computer psu (or any other earth)....i still need to do this on mine...failing that try a ground loop isolator inbetween the sound from the pc to ur amp.

Thank you dave_corsa a ground loop cable thing on the way will let you know if it works. Pics will hopefully be up on Mon lots of work as its Christmas. Parents live in Cambridge.

I dont know what it is, i got the kit of Ebay that said it fits the Corsa C and hey presto it did.
