Hey,

I currently am running the full stock set-up in my corsa; Blaupunkt CD deck and 6-speaker stereo.

I have purchased 2 x 12" Pioneer subs and a 4-channel amp aswell as all the wires etc needed for the install.

One thing i was told that I need to get, is the 'convertor' to change the speaker wire into pre-outs. I was told at the local stero store though, that if I was too fit this convertor to the speaker wire then I would have to d/connect either the front or rear speakers?

The reason for d/connecting them is because it may put too much load onto the deck? I was planning on just tapping into the rear speaker wires by splicing into them, and running it straight off of there. Then if i run them off the rears i wont need to take the deck out either.

Also will the treble and bass features on my deck control the subs if i run the convertor off the rear speakers and will that be a problem?

Please help...

Thanks

Yep, u need line to RCA convertors, although u wud be better running them off a better head unit, as the standard corsa 1 is pretty ****e!

Yeah i know i need the line convertor but can i just tap this into the rear speakers without having to d/c them?

will it put too much load onto the deck?

thanks

I think our standard dec over here is different to the one u guys get in the UK.

it shudnt put too much load on the head unit but i wudnt recommend doin it, ur definitly not goin to get the best sound quality doin it that way, and the subs will completley overpower everythin else.

if your gonna do it, d/c the rear speakers, you wont need them any ways with the subs running, better to upgrade the front speakers and amp them whilst your at it
