Im making a tv install for the centre console of my car, ive fibreglassed it and now just put the p38 on, however after sanding down the p38 i can still see some red parts to the fibreglass. some of it is still lumpy, how to obtain a smooth finish? Please post your responses as im at the fnal stage of my project and dont want to give up!

shouldnt have put the fibreglass on so thick, erm it's a bitch too sand down if you have put it on too thick, best bet would be to use a dremmel or drill with a sanding bit in it

That doesnt look good mate. Its all about thin coats of fiberglass and filler, looks lie you may need and angle grinder to get that smooth!!!

lol, lets be honest it looks absolutely SHI!T. So, now ive started again, it was suprisingly easy to get off actually, just a flat head screwdriver and the whole mould popped off. How smooth does the new fibreglass need to be? Ive been sanding it down but am unsure as to how smooth i need it to be. Any advice? Im asking before i apply paste this time as dont wont the same crappy result i had last time to happen again.

the fibreglass needs to be all covered up, it doesnt have to be smooth, you just cover it over with filler and smooth that

looks fine, just slap p38 all over it, remember its ****in easy to sand (try a sureform file or p40 grit first to get a rough shape) then p80 to get a rough surface then p180 to finish off.
