Speaker cable

Will "16 gauge Hi-fi speaker wire" work to hook up speakers. Got some cheap at work but I work at Dixons so I guess its meant for Hi-fi's

cheers fella. speaker wire bought. 25m for £5. bargain. we stopped selling it so it went clearance. be hooking up my 6x9s tonight. and maybe my ecotek valve if i can find someone whose done it on a twinport.
