Fitting Speakers: Adhesive?

Just got my new Type S comps for my car, gonna pull out the JBL's that are dead, but looks like the guy who fitted them for me used some kind of adhesive with screws. Is this necessary or can I just screw in my new speakers?

i think a little adhesive (if i understand well what an adhesive is!!!) would be necessary so the speaker dont moves when playing due to cone's pulses!!!

Nah u dont need adhesive at all, just screw em in tight!

glue, or a double sided sticky tape

many people use thick tape or glue around the edges to stop it vibrating the door card as much. its a load of balls. dynamat it, or let the car sound like a chav wagon from outside
