head unit help

hi guys jus wondered if this head unit any good, i aint got a clue with ice

alpine are awsome ive got the alpine 9851 r and its awsome. if u got an ipod i highly recommend u get the ipod adapter aswell:thumbs:

Ive got the 9853r, which is the same as that without the dot matrix screen. U can save urself £86 by having the 9853r instead, its feature set is the same, its just up to u if u want the screen or not.
However it is the best headunit u will get in the price bracket and the iPod adaptor is awesome!

yeah they are very nice i have the 9835 the equivalent model but a year older, no silly glide touch thing. But the 9855 is a quality unit cant go wrong with alpine

Yeah the glide touch is a bit crap, but its not too bad when u get used to it tho!

glide control is good wen u get hang of it

9853r with ipod adaptor for me well good and as sed above u can save 80odd bucks

Yeh, it is good for the iPod adaptor, but its annoyin when u click it accidentally! and its hard to use while driving!

thats a magnificent UH (9855) but as i said in an other topic, glide touch is quite sensitie. i ve seen many 9853, 9855 going back to alpine with problems @ their glide touch!!!
otherwise its a fantastic HU with many options to play with!!!
