View Full Version : Anyone got 17's on standard suspension?
I was wondering if anyone has fitted 17's on there car and not lowered, i may get a set of 17's but i cant lower it because it will rocket my insurance premium because i am only 17. I wanted to see how the car sits on 17's on standard suspension, if anyone has got any pics of their car with this setup please post some pics,
cheers

i have .. mine is perfectly fine.... ofset is et49
205/40/17 tyres...
Not sure on offset but they fit with no rubbing as of yet, so well see when the suspension comes!
here's mine, 17's fill the arches REALLY WELL no rubby rubby at all.

probably et45 as i have the same wheels in that offset
if you get a decent kit mate that looks low, and you want a set of 17`s ur car will look low withou you doing anythin
Lowering it also improves handling, not just the height it affects.
grrr i have 17' and they rub like fook but thats for other reasons
its becuase they have 215's on the rear and the kit isnt smoothed in yet to the wheel archs

i would watch when lowering if your only 17 because your insurance will class it as a performance enhancing modification rather than a cosmetic mod so it will go up a fair whack, some places might even refuse to insure you. I waited til i'd built up a years no claims before I lowered mine.
tut tut very norty sugestion lol;)

dont worri bout insurance mate
jus take it easy
you could always change the suspension bk to standard
Stop giving such stupid ****ing advice :x If you cant suggest something sensible, dont bother.
Dave, say you have a crash, smash the entire side front end up, how the **** you going to change the suspension back on the roadside?
"Just take it easy", not always your driving, mostly other peoples.
Stupid ****ing advice.
totally agree, it has been proved over and over that if you dont declare your mods, your running a risk and if you crash your f****d basically. "taking it easy" doesnt work,m anyways i fitted my 16's yesterday and they sit pretty nice i think, check out the pics on "your cars" section under the oz titan thread :)

insurance dnt need to no, i had a clio and got written off, had sound system, back box, 15" wolfrace's etc etc, got it all removed way before the assor came round. check my pics for damage to the clio
if I see one more "insurance dont need to know" im going to ****ing scream. Stop giving such **** advice.
How do you plan to remove a suspension spring if a corner is written off and crushed?

i agree with you mate. its not right, especially if you were to hit another car and cause a major incident, and your insurance wont pay up.....play it safe. its the best way.
epiphany so is your car on standard springs because yours sits really nicely, i think im going to go for titan chaos, becoming popular but im not modding my car much and they look soo good on dunas i think i will probs go for them... opinions
