Hey guys :D

Well, got my 17s fitted the other day, TSW Heats 205/40/17 et35 with yokohoma tyres and when i have people in the back and go over a bump they rub bad (not big people either, no fat birds in my motor before you say it lol!)! It is already marking the back tyres!!!

So i went to a garage today and asked about sorting my arches, they said nothing could be done which is total crap but ye... can someone tell me exactly what i should be asking a garage to do now please?

All advice appreciated, thanks in advance :)

Take the wheels back

35 is way out, people occasionally get away with 37-38 with a few arch mods / can sometimes be very lucky.

35 is only 10 off the recomended offset of 45

I bought them from www.carnoisseur.com (actually drove all the way to kettering store from derby to get these babies) and he said there would be no rubbing, damn it!

There nothing i can do?

Well... he said along the lines of "in my book it tells you if you will need to do work to make them fit and it says they fit perfectly onto a corsa c 2001> without any work needed" and i said "but ive read that the range is 40-49?" but he said it would be perfectly fine?! :/

well i aint had no spacers on the wheels so its been very shakey anyway (alot of vibration in the doors) feeling every damn bump... as for the steering, i can't say its an improvement from the 13" black standard wheels with trims... infact the car is worse with these 35s on... not sure if thats to do with the offset tho or not! But i wouldnt recommend you try 35s to be honest.

On a brighter note, ive just called them up and told him about the rubbing and hes ordering me in some new tyres with offset of 40 and doing straight swap over for me whilst also putting spacers on and lowering my car by 30/40mm with Jamex springs woot! :D

hmm you DO NOT want spacers

as they push the wheels out, and et 35 is out, et 40 is in further :|

well im getting alot of vibration/shaking, sometimes enough to pull the steering wheel away from me a bit which i never got on my old black wheels and trims... but the guy said that if i get shaking/vibration i need spriggits or something on?

Hmmm dunno about that, sounds like they might just not be tightened up enough / runing wrong pressure

ET 35 is dangerous mate. ET37 is really the lowest you can go! Complain to them about it

Yeh, i thought something was wrong when the drive is so much worse than 13" standard wheels... i had loads more control with them, it slides all over the place at the moment and wheel spins alot

But the guy is swapping them on friday for new wheels with et40
