Hi guys,

New to the site so hello to all.

Currently selling my Black corsa C SXi and as such im spending a bit of time doing it up, cleaning it, bit of restoration work etc.

Question is, although the car is sparkling after a good polish on the outside I noticed today as I lifted the bonnet that is was in an oily mess under the hood, which I have never cleaned since I have had it about 2 years.

So how easy is the engine and all under the bonnet to clean, does it need any special attention. My ideal plan would be to simply get a jet wash to it first on a soap setting and then just on a water setting, will this work, will it damage the engine?

Hope someone can help me out, or maybe give me some advice on what I should do instead...

Cheers.

Cheers for the heads up on that, will try some 'gunk' this weekend, think ive seen that at Halfords before.
Just searched the net for engine degreasers / cleaners and it says that when using any you should put a plastic bag around any electircal equipment. I there anything under the hood of my corsa c that I need to put a bag around to use this sort of cleaner in your experience or do I just whack the cleaner all over and go for it?

Cheers.

Theres to much to look out for.Wouldn't put a hose near the engine bay if i were you.Damp cloth and sponge with a cleaning spray and then wipe dry is enough

a steam clean is always handy!! :)

wouldn't bother wiv jet wash - jst use a bit of elbow grease and it should be alright...

and is that wise to cover electrics in wd40??? it's like putting baby oil on your bumpers :|
