I made a stealth shelf a while ago for my alpine type-r's but left it ages to buy some acoustic carpet for some reason.

The carpet arrived today so i thought i'd get the shelf covered, i tooks some photo's along the way for anyone thats intrested in how i did it.

Was a fairly cheap project making the shelf, using scrap wood from my garage, a jig saw, acoustic carpet and some tacks to pin the carpet on. The tacks probably wern't the best thing, but the only thing i had on short notice, and they did the job. anyway, the shelf:

At the moment i have Alpine type R 6x9s and pioneer front comps

at the end of it, all it cost me was £6.75, inc. P&P, that was just for the acoustic carpet at http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BLACK-Acoustic-carpet-car-boot-parcel-shelf_W0QQitemZ5874965904QQcategoryZ18805QQrdZ1QQc mdZViewItem and obviously the price of the speakers, which were £60 in a sale.

It only took an afternoon to do the cutting, and a seperate afternoon for the carpeting

comments welcome, thanks

its hard to describe without a picture!
If you look at the top of the facia (face on) then rotate it 90 degrees towards you its the small lip that actually sits just under the heater vents (the bit that bends
Cut a little off at a time then trial refit!
Hope that helps! (and makes sence!)
