Head Unit??

Hi, i've been thinking about buyin all alpine ICE for my car but have just seen this head unit. what do ppl think? will it work well with alpine stuff?? was thinkin alpine sub, amps, front speakers and maybe 6-9"z.http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/images/shop/large/jvc/b_kdavx1.jpg (javascript:;)

Both of those units are pretty good tbh mate, I have heard that the Alpines glide touch can be difficult to work and a few other faults but both are quality units!!!

Both will work fine with alpine gear, infact you mix and match equipment as much as you like as long as ratings work well together i.e. RMS figures on an amp match the RMS figures on a sub.

I've mixed and matched gear in my install:

Pioneer Head Unit
Focal Comps
Phonocar Amp
RE Audio sub
JBL Amp

the JVC exad is too slow it takes 5 secs to change a song and changin between menus is even slower

the alpine unit is good i kno for a fact, a mate has it. i just wondered if it was worth spendin that bit extra for the jvc

how much is the alpine? if the jvc more then the alpine?

I would get the alpine cos alpine only do car audio unlike jvc which do all tpyes of audio goods

The JVC is more expensive than the Alpine. However the JVC isn't a bad unit it has 3 pre-outs and hits most other areas too.

Really does depend on what he wants from a head unit, if anything both head units are great but one can do abit more!!!

Although JVC are an general audio company that doesn't affect the build qualitly on this unit.

ive got the alpine and its spot on! wudnt swap it for the JVC one anyway!

it's the los angeles mp74. it's got 4 4v pre outs plus a dedicated sub out 2! digi receiver 4 perfect radio reception, digi equalizer which can b adjusted by voice command :o has a microphone included which allows this 2 happen, never seen this on a hu b4 eva! 4,000 different colours 4 the display, motorised face, and inputs 4 2 ipods/ mp3 players!!!!! :o i love:love: this hu, can't believe they rn't more popular really!
i should contact blaupunkt nd start becomin a trader or get some commision wit the amount of m8s i convince 2 buy them, they never wanna go bak 2 a diff make ofta eitha!

i have this one and would thoroughly recoment it. The glide touch isn't difficult to work once you've had a play.
