Just got an adaptor so i could use my steering wheel contols with my head unit but when i turn the ignition off the HU goes to standby and has no memory!! do i need to change the wires like i did the origonal adaptor???

Swap the red and yellow wires
i have done that on the original block do i need to do it on the new one that lets me use the controls??

you should have got some wires with the hu you bought and you swap the yellow and red wires over on the hu wires.
Also, to keep the date displaying on your MFD, cut the grey/red wire at the ISO block or if you have a long blue wire going to either end of your headunit loom, cut this.
I have changed the red and yellow wires and i had no problems with "memory loss" on the head unit before!!
Now I have got another adaptor (autoleads) so my steering wheel controls work. this connects from "CAR-> Steering wheel adpt -> HU Adpt -> HU no when i turn the car on i have memory loss do i need to change the red and yellow wires on the Steering wheel adaptor to cure this

i had the same adaptors but i didnt change any wires on the adaptors i bought the only wires i changed round were the ones supplied with the hu
