Hey guys, over the last week i decided to restart my screen build. I stopped working on my old one because my tv broke, but i sent it to japan, and they repaired it! So its on its way back now. Also in the pics below is where im plaaning on putting my power invertor. The reason why on some pics my build is yellow and then grey is because of the primer i used. I ran out of grey. Neway, tell me what you think and bear in mind that i havent finished it yet, so thats the reason why is isnt totally smooth. Im thinking of either painting it, or getting it retrimmed in leather. Havent decided yet tho. Neway, thanks for looking!

You dont. If you wanted to remove the screen there are screws at the back of it. But once i install this i have no intention on taking it back it out, unless something goes wrong with the screen that is.

but the screws are behind the screen??? and the screen sits infront of the screws so how do u get behind it??? or am i just being dumb???????????? lol

Thats what i havent worked out yet. Im probably just gonna glue it in. With tiger seal (same as martin) or bolt it in somehow. I dont know yet.
Where u get the invertor??
was it a pain in the arse to build

The invertor i got from motorworld for 20quid! I went to halfords first but they had ones for £30+ so i shopped around and motorworld was the cheapest i could find. It didnt take long to build actually, i started that from scratch on Monday and its almost done. The only part thats annoying is the sanding down and then filling etc. As soon as i get that dead smooth, it'll be finished.
u got a link for motor world
what did u use to build it up

No link sorry, i went into the actual store and they had a few. I used fibreglass (p40) to build it up and then filler (p38 ) to get it smooth and sand down.
You havent spoke to me on msn for ages, so i was kinda guessing you got it sorted
i've done a tutorial on how to build a screen in your dash exactly the saem as this. Try lookin in the TUTORIAL section, the first thread :P
thats looking good mate.
dont cover it in leather for pittys sake. spend extra time on the finish and paint it. i went down to 2000grade, thats why it looks ledge

it doesn't come out. once its in, its in :D building something like that is the only way you can stop it getting nicked.

IF it breaks then i dunno what il do, i havent planned that far ahead yet. I'll cross that bridge wen i get to it
what if the screen breaks????????? lol
the screen has no reason to break...
i'm not going tell everyone on corsa-c how my screen (which everyone seems to want) comes out of my car

mine comes out  same build idea etc 2....once i re-attached the screen to the facia...i put the standard screw mounts back on with some fibre glass etc...i cut off the bottom holes tho, and use the top two.
As u cant get at them very easily i glued in a bolt so as u place the screen and facia into the car the bolts pop thru the holes, then its a case of tightening the nuts from behind...which is a royal pain in the ass, however it works and no1 can get at them without taking half he dash out!
to secure the bottom i used to hooks/ring thingys which screw into the back of the facia, then i used cable ties and tied them round some plastic above the upper part of the heater control housing. easy enuff and worked a treat.
