Right im planning a big sound install for my next car and im starting to get some of the parts while I have my c, problem is im not very good wen it comes to wat parts are best to get, so any suggestions would be hugly great full, gona be gettin some commponants for the front and back plus some 6x9s for the back, then I need to know what the best makes are for head units, subs and amps, and wat people could recommend me, I have no budget, as I am willing to spend a lot on gettin this sound system perfect, any suggestions and websites where I could buy these from will be appretiated

Ok what do you want from the system? Sound Qualitly or Big bass??? or a combo???
Dont bother with 6x9's!!!
Also is your buget really limitless if so i and others could really go to town, something like a Steg amp - £3k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol alrite then ill put a limit on about 2500 for 2 subs and watever the best amp combo is to power em, and bout 1500 for headunit and some realy very good speakers, n yeah id prefer sound quality realy rather than super bassy

if you want sound quality then i would say:
components - CDT audio, rainbow or boston acoustics
amps - Tru technologies, TRU hammer or sledgehammer for the subs!!
subs - image dynamics IDMAX, or JL W7s are very good as well
head unit - alpine
processor - alpine H700 or H701
Batteries and wiring and alternator will need a huge upgrade as well

Ok instead of list loads of equipment i'll tell you brands to look out for:
Head Unit - Alpine/Pioneer lastest Sta Nav flip out screen
Comps - What has already been suggested and Focal, Crystal AND JL
Subs - What has been suggested and RE Audio, Focal, Eton maybe Arc Audio
Amps - Again what has been suggested and Audison, Genesis, Steg and JL Audio
Basically keep a look out for all of these names!!!

Well if you are suggesting that JVC are better than Steg, Audison or Focal than you havent heard many good systems!!!! Besides JVC are a general audio company, yes some of there kit is good but most is budget cr*p....the brand names i listed well absolutely p*ss on JVC. Rockford is very good but there are better!!!

Alpine do produce some good gear, but this guys wants to spend more money than your Giro cheque so some better brand names are in his reach!
alpine suck floppy ckock
because ONE person setting up his car told him JVC are good, he's sticking by it. even though everyone else says otherwise...
what about NAKAMICHI headunits? The last i heard they were the best in the world. But im sure JVC sound much better...

not 1 person but 5 if im correct told me to ditch the alpine, which i thought suckd anyway and in my experience the JVC pissd all over it
bloke that put in my installs got a nakamichi never really heard it tbh

yeah Nakamichi gear is the best, that is non questionable lol. but there stuff looks awful, which puts people off.
Maybe those people told you to ditch alpine maybe because you wanted high SPL? maybe they wouldn't have told you to ditch it if you didnt have a massive SPL install and had a build for SQL? obviously not being there or knowing the people- i have no idea of there reasoning.
In your opinion, what mkes the JVC better? Does it just sound better in your car? or have mates of yours ALSO made the move from Alpine to JVC?

i had everything alpine before i got a proper install and i thought it was class then i sat in a few cars that were alot more bassy which is what i wantd
so sold all the alpine sept the HU as i thought this would run it all, got the rockford stuff in and it would clip at anything over 22 iirc aswell as a problem with the comps not runnin correct, few people had a fiddle and a listen and tried a few different HUs and the JVC gave the best sound and highest volume
i know of about 7 cars that all have big installs and all use JVC HUs
ah rite. so clipping, not as loud, not the best sound. these are the bad points you found.
im surprised...

plus i hated the glide touch, the flip down to put the CD in constantly broke, HU froze n turnd itself off
aswell as there being HUs with more features and better speccd for the same money

TBH honest I dont know, thought that was your specialitly! lol
if the guys spending that much money shouldnt he have a bit of an idea of what hes buyin? - that defeats the object of the guys f*cking question....he doesn't know what to buy but doesn't want to buy sh*t....like JVC, Sony or Splx (sorry to anyone thats got these).
He doesnt have to take our advice does he!!! Yes listening to a cars will be the biggest factor in deciding what he wants.
Can I ask what cars you listened to???

Thats a nice selection of cars you've listen to, did they all have any JVC??? still cant work out why you decided on JVC (i have read the problems you were having but that may not have been down to your alpine unit, but i can't comment as i wasnt there!) but each to there own!!!
I just cant believe that they suggested JVC (dont get me wrong as i have said they do make some ok gear but still rate a few above them highly)
Im in a c*ntish mood 24/7 mate....but im still prepared to help someone out....not with comments like - Alpine suck floppy c*ck which is'nt really gonna help the man!!!!!!

eye it might be impossible if i had a short timesclae, but this is goin in my next car not my c, n i aint getin it till 3 years time, obviously im gona be using some of the stuff in my c but not all of it, iv already got some infinity speakers and a pioneer head unit so i aint in a huge hurry 2 replce them cos ther good quality, but I mite be tempted to get a new sub and amp for my boot as the ones I have now are jbl and aint the best, are quite blurry wen loud, think ther more for bass than sound quality, but wer cheap so i cant complain, but part from that I just wana make sure I have a look at as much of the list uv given me as I can, then once iv settled on a list of stuff then I can set about savin for the damn stuf, thinkin of goin for the multimedia unit as shown in the link below, as it looks prety decent, but id like to know ur thought, n wer I mite actually be able to look at some more nakamichi stuff and prices for the stuff, cheers chris
