Have had the emissions light on for like 2 months now. Karl offered to clear it / check fault codes.
Outcome was the code P0443.

P0443 Evaporative emission control system purge control valve circuit shorted C-28
P0443 Evaporative emission control system purge control valve circuit open C-28

^ copied from the 'fault codes' thread.

Have been meaning to go to Vauxhall and ask them what part I need and get it, but haven't got round to it yet. Bank holiday today so they'll be closed so I'm asking you guys if you can help me out :)

What part do I need exactly?
Rough cost?
How long does it take to remove the old part and fit new part?
Rough cost a mechanic would charge?

Just wanna know before I go to Vaux etc. DEFINITELY sorting it this week!!!!!

dont have a clue but i would suggest the lamda sensors but not sure which one it is as there are 2
you have a standard exhaust on dont you?

Thing is though a few fault codes came up [including the 2 sensors] and after Karl cleared them only one came back. This one.
I was told it's the egr valve but need it confirmed as don't wanna buy something, get it fitted and it not work :(

And yeah, standard exhaust. Light came on a week after I got my Piper exhaust taken off and replaced with standard

02 sensor or maf is a likely reason for that code.

Why can't there be one fault for one code? Would make life so much easier!

I don't wanna go and buy a sensor to find out I need something else...

The joys of airflow issues
I got 0170 (rich lean exhaust) when it was a gasket on the throttle body and a induction manifold control valve split. Codes don't always give out what you think is the issue
Vauxhall both awkward in fault finding as they are to fix.

Does MAF even give a code? On the Snap on Modus 2, It just gave a really low reading for the MAF so I know it needs changing. The only codes I had were from my facelift headlights.

Got some more fault codes :(

Need to replace the AFM and the second sensor.

Still unsure what P0443 is.

Asked loads of people about the 'secondary air valve system' and no-one has ever heard of it :\ Ben hasn't either and he's messed about with loads of engines!
So sort of doubting it's the wrong part Karl, even though Lewis' diagram did show it does exist lol. Not sure what to do
May just be the part near the airbox? FFS! So angry lol

So little time to sort it out! :(

Still unsure what P0443 is.

B-001 C-033 Evaporative Emission Control System Circuit
P0443 Fuel Tank Ventilation Valve Voltage High

May just be the part near the airbox? FFS!

It sits right next to the air-box!!!

she did and it was not the valve we thought as that was not even fitted to the engine 1.8, she replaced maf and both co2,s and turned out to be fuse missing no. 30 or 33 I think, hit and miss with some codes you replace parts that corrospond to code and sometimes this does not cure it.
