View Full Version : Cleaning Me Car
Its a bit of a mess since coming back from Dorset...
However, whenever I polish and wax it, it leaves swirls on the paint.
Is this irght:?
Wash With Water (With Meguiars Soft Wash Gel)
Rinse It All Off
Dry With Cloth
Polish It With Different Cloth
Wax With Different Cloth?
Any tips to not get swirls?
are the swirls in the pain ot is it white swils ontop? if its white your not getting it all off and need to rub a bit harder
Its white swirls.
What sort of cloth do I use?
Just rub it into the paintwork?
no, it rubs off onto the cloth. how long are you leaving it for and which pollish is it? i know on some you only supposed to leave it a very short time and if you leave it too long its very hard to get off.
Meguiars 3 stage stuff...Paint cleaner...polish...wax
should say how long you have to leave each stage on for
This means it will probally rain were u live as soon as youve done it!
also, dont use the 1st stage too often or your end up with no paint lol. you really do have to buff it hard to get it off and get a nice shine, you should end up with arms like arnie when your done lol

Use better cloths. Merguirs do 3 different ones -
Cotton Terry towel - decent to take majority of wax / polish off
Microfibre (yellow) - A lot better taking off wax / polish. Leaves few smears (Use after terry towel)
Ultimate wipe - EXPENSIVE but quality cloth (use after previous two if a perfectionist!)

Well 2modified on here does them at good rates. But Halfords stock them too. Think they are around a fiver each but are damn good quality.
