mfd displays song titles

in my mates facelift the mfd displays song titles and he has the cd30

i noticed his mfd is slightly different to mine, guess its a facelift feature.

i have a pre facelift 52 reg with cdr 2005 vdo

can i get it to show titles??

im guessing its a feature of the new cd30 and the upgraded mfd (its so big the new one), if you change your HU it will display the titles on that instead i've never been able to get song titles working on mine

I really dont know but I have a similar kind of question.

I have a 55 reg SXI with the CD30, some CD's display Track Titles some dont. Im pretty sure 90% of my CDs have the data on them as, they work in the stereo I had in my old car

The CD30 has CD TEXT feature and the MFD has a higher resolution (more pixels) which allow it to display song titles. Not many CDs seem to have Track titles on though, however if you burn a CD with iTunes.. obviously with the songs you have legally brought from the music store, it will write CD text to the CD and it will work.

With purchased CDs its pretty hit and miss, and as a general rule, most dont have CDTEXT

i saw a few 55> corsas at breakers today i wonder if you put the new mfd and cd30 in an older corsa the track names will show

nop, being as the new CD30 works on a completely different wiring system, called CANBUS, rather than the old ISO format. Why bother anyway? just buy an aftermarket head unit, most support CD Text

its the same size as the current 1, just the text is smaller, its really not that exciting, however if u wanna see 1 so bad ur going to wet urself, im sure ur local VX will let you see 1 of the corsas in the showroom:P
Dont think u cud swap them, as the new 1 will be differently wired i would have thought!

whats the huge mfd then is it the sat nav one? its like twice the height of a standard mfd

yeah, u get it with some of the CD changer units aswell, also with the corsa c's with trip computers.
