View Full Version : new install
i was thinking of getting a another fli 12 sub and a vibe box 3 or 4 or 5. and also get a red top battary. could i get a slip charge and how does it work.(me stupid) LOL
also anyone heard of oxygen audio and are they good
all going in a 1.7 cdti sri
split charge systems basically split the alternator power between batteries and charge both at the same time.
so is a 1.7 cdti sri alternator good inof to do this and how easy is it to fit a slip charge (plus is it worth it) Me have no clue about on i.c.e as long as its got loads of BASS
yes it is, and it is only worth it if ur going to be running a serious SPL system really..
ya i want to do all this now as i got the money. the installs going to get bigger while time goes on LOL THX for the help 'feederfan'
If ur planning something big then definitly go split charge!
You can do split charge damn cheap, £38 I was looking into it today... eBay shops badassmotors is the seller and hes got some pretty funky stuff I bought a fire extinguisher from them today funky one at that.
Definatly give them a try.
U cant get a good split system for £38... ur prob lookin about £50 for cabling then£100ish for a good quality battery designed for ICE systems
im talking about just the cabling, good cabling only ything you will need to add on is battery
i got a split charge for 20 of my mate cause he didnt want it. what a good cheap battary and cables to get :D
well if you already have the cables, the batt and the relay itself, then all you need to look at is amps and speakers really...
what do you want from your system? SQ or SPL?
SQ = sound quality
SPL = sound pressure level
I've heard good things about Oxygen, most of my mates compare them to FOCAL, so they must be good :D
defo stay clear of VIBE if your planning a big install. they are cheapo naff subs ingreat enclosures... there WRMS values are aloada tripe too...
wire the relay and cable like so:

(i forgot to draw on something: both batteries should be earthed to chassis)
hope this helps...
What AWG cable for a second battery? Cos if its 4awg then Iv already got that running down and it will save me from running another down for my other amp as I could just connect both amps to the 2nd battery
