Adaptor too Big

I have a corsa sxi y redged and i have just taken out the standard radio to put in my mp3/cd player.

when i tried to put the new one in it needed an adaptor. i went to halfords and bought an adaptor for a corsa.

i came home and pluged it in everything fits apart from when i push the mp3 back the addaptor makes the radio stick out about 3inches :'(

can anyone help with this problem?

just push the adaptor down the back of the stereo b4 u put it fully in if that makes sense i had the same problem with my head unit but i got it in

i have tried, i have pluged it in where the origonal one connected in.

im guessing this is correct if not can someone help?

when the adaptor is plugged into the car and the cd player, they both are in each others way when putting the cd player back in, so it sticks out.

how has everyone else managed to get around this problem? as no1 seems to have come accross this

you put the cd player in before u put the facsia in. then u pull the adaptors down before u push it all the way to the back. then u push it back and click it into place

no its not the wires that are in the way - its the ends of the adaptors (the connectors). they are too big, and makes it stick out. the socket is at the top left in the car and the same position on the cd player, but slightly out, (so wouldnt jus fit straight in).

are the sockets in the same place on everybody else's car?

tried to take out the metal cradle, but couldnt seem to get that out. how do u take it out?

u need to unclip the aerial and plugs out of it with a flat head screwdriver...there is a small screw at the back near the plugs also, take that out, then lever it out with a screwdriver. its a tight fit but u should be able to get it out with a bit of patience mate.

that should answer why your plugs wont fit n the stereo sticks out 3 inches :thumbs:

** by the way, when unclipping the plugs...push them back out of the cradle...not towards u. they will disappear, but once the cradle is out u can get to them
