View Full Version : dorr cards
i have read the tutorial on removing the door cards on my car but how do i get the window winders off as mine are manual?
Pull them forward, and theres a metal clip holding it on the spindle. Ping it off with a screwdriver, and then spend the next hour finding where it went :)
thanks mates thats a great help
or if u cant do that get a cloth and put it behind the winder and just pull it up and down and it shold pop off!

it is very ag! you need some one with small hands and need a few things before getting started. obvious need the electric window door cards, motors and loom. i got door cards £10 each with loom and motors for £30 each form a vauxhall breakers, ( GM spares in essex) also need a drill to drill out tapets, torx screws, patience, little nuts and bolts to fix the motors into place when you have taken manuals out. the rest is to put it all back together hopeing all works and is fitted back into place properly. the holes for the motors are already in the door so there no need to make new ones.

this is the passenger side all done. if you want to go all the way you can have the electric window mirror motors and fit it all. i didnt and just put the old covers on so i can move my mirror manually.
any other ?'s please just ask
how did u get the cover off where the manaul mirror adjuster is? cos is seperate to the rest of the dor card

you no them white poppers? erm they hold the door card on, as well as 4/5 screws. best bet if your up to it is un screw the door card and tug on it. member to pop out the handle cover as there is one lurking behinde that to. the mirror bit comes off sepratly, only attached by 3 white poppers. if u have not a clue wot im talkin about, find a renault clio mk1 and rip off the black rub strip. thats all what is attachin it to the car. hope i made sense
Hi mate, whats involved in fastening the runners or whatever to the actual glass to make them go up and down? Cheers-

alot of ag is involved. theres 2 holes for you to move the motor etc. in a sence your goin in blind and goin by feel and touch if that makes sense. the glass is held in plce by 3 screws which go on the runner and tightens round the window. towards the central lockin bit there is a long runner which go's from top to bottom near enough which hold the back of the window. this has a white plastic runner / guider lettin the window go up in the position you have set it.
its hard to explian and due to the space of what you have to do it gain its hard to do if you havnt got patience, but have been driving around tonite and it feel great to do my windows. even though its freezin outside
Ok, sounds like the best thing to do is get a cheap door and have a play around first.

yeh, i had a mate wid me to help, who has done elec windows before but on a golf, so he had a little knowledge about it, but even he addmitted it was hard. if anything the very easy part is sorting door cards and swappin loom. motor bit is and glass is the hard part.
