View Full Version : headunit wiring urgent!
apprently you need to change the red and yelow cables so the headunit doesnt reset all the time, i dont know how to do this tho. i have posted on the ICE it but no one is responding
how do i change them over, i cant see how to do it?! i rele need to know was i dont want my unit reseting all the time!!
i have an alpine headunit and im prefacelift so apprently i dont need an adapter and sould be able to swap the cables, i have a 9853R how do i do this?
you wont loose all the information it will still have a feed from the loom and the memory wont erase
it just wont turn off with the ignition like the old one does!

On The Adapter To Change From Iso To Your Alpine H/u There Should Be Bullet Connections Or Something Along Those Lines To Swap Them Round If This Fails Its Going To Be A Case Of Cut And Solder
right the yellow and red wires should have a connector on them (so u can disconnect them) so pull the yellowand red cable apart at these connectors and swap them over. so now 1 cable should start red until the connector then contine yello the other should start yellow until the connector and contine red.

what adaptor things have you bought, if youve got the alpine adaptor loom then you dont need to change any connectors round. mark

u will lose setting as this is what happend to may m8s, turned off fine just didn't have the radio settings when it came back on
i havnt bought any as i wsa told the pre facelift doesnt require any
right to save arguments i say just try it if i loses its memory then u know u have to change the wires lol

i pluged in the two bloks and the radio there is still one blue blok remainin but theres nothing to plug into it, i have no power, and it will not turn on?? there is one more black cable coming out of the headuit which is kinda of round with a straight bottom, what is that, im soo annoyed that its not working!!!

wtf i just put my mates pioneer into the plugs and it powered up?? how can the alpine not be working, its a brand new headunit!!
