Hi everyone!

Just new on the site. My name is Ally, come from Glasgow. I have a 1.2 SXi.

Just wanted to start off modding things a bit. Used to have a Pug 306 and modded up a bit, had fun and sold for a nice profit.

So I have put a Pipercross induction on it (not that impressed so far, not noticed anything much different. Am I missing something?).

Anyway, I want to know how to get the handbrake cover off the thing. I don't want to prize it off in case it snaps. I've got a fairly nice chrome replacement to go on instead.

What's the best move? I got the plastic cover bit away from the top OK, just need to get the big black bit off. Flat end Screwdriver or something else?

Cheers,

Ally.

I always found and adjustable spanner and a hammer did the trick well. With the jaws of the spanner over the metal of the handbrake shaft, adjust until it almost nips and then tap it with the hammer to move the sleeve forwards

When I say tap I mean a manly tap, not a girly one ;)

that worked great thanks.

Only thing now is that the damn handbrake cover won't fit! - I reckon they sent me the wrong one.

:(

Cheers,

Al.
