you shouldn't really need to wax a new car mate

why not? protects the paintwork, makes it shiney...
yeah waxing a new car is gd to keep the colour lasting and protects it alot!

my car aint new lol.ive had it for 4 years :>
When i 1st bought the car brand new i was told by the dealership not to polish it due to it still being new or sumtin
thats crap mate! polish you wouldnt need because it would of been new but it wouldnt do any harm and waxing is gd!
once you polish the car do you leave it for a few hours then start the wax job?
yeah its fine to wax it straight after you have polished. The only time i wait is inbetween washing it and polishing/waxing it.
This is because it allows the water to get out of the seals all round the car and dry out fully. Its horrible when you get water in with your polish or wax.
